Problem Summary
As a relatively small team that acts as an independent subset of Logitech, Streamlabs is constantly growing their platform and iterating on product improvements. These projects will primarily showcase the improvements and new feature added to increase user engagement and increase conversion to Ultra memberships.
Results
Overall increase in Ultra memberships, account sign ups, and increase in mobile usage.
Streamlabs Gift Cards
One of the major product requests we get from users is the ability to gift Ultra memberships to their friends and family during the holiday season or during major celebrations. This project had a tight deadline to make for the holiday season, so we worked on creating requirements and design/engineering goals for what we would consider an MVP product. Over the span of 3 weeks for design, I was the sole designer in charge of handling the design, communications between creative and product, and collaborating with engineering on the implementation. On launch this feature helped increase purchases of Ultra subscription memberships for the holiday season, with a general increase throughout the year.
Cloudbot Queues
Cloudbot is one of Streamlab’s more popular chat bots that helps streamers moderate and manage interactive features of their streams such as polls, queues, giveaways, and more. The web tool itself had minimal updates to its UI since its inclusion on the web dashboard, so I was tasked to go through and help update many of the screens to be more mobile friendly, easier to use, and consistent with the design system.
Streamlabs Desktop Recordings
A portion of Streamlab’s users use Streamlabs to record their gameplay for videos or shortform videos on social media, but the Desktop app didn’t have a dedicate interface to manage your recordings and instead prompted users to look for their videos on their local hard drive. I was tasked to help improve this experience by creating a new interface that helps streamers manage their recordings easily, as well as link them to Streamlab’s other various editing tools. On release, the new recording UI shows a significant increase in engagement with recorded clips and account signups, increased engagement with our other editing tools, and increased conversion to Ultra memberships to use the full suite of editing tools.
